That still play with a variant of RuneScape
Entirely false. 7 complete years after EoC and OSRS have been released, and cheap RuneScape gold many people, including extremely famous EoC pvmers such as Evil Lucario, will tell you there's enormous flaws in EoC. The vast majority of RS3 players still use Revolution based on Jagex. Many OSRS has gamers haven't returned into EoC, many nevertheless express a dislike for this.
It's time to accept the fact that Eoc was a failure. I play RS3 and Eoc, and I do pvm, and even I can acknowledge that it flopped. We were advised that Eoc would revolutionise combat and lead to a huge burst in popularity as gamers from other games with contemporary combat would come play RS3 (it did not occur at all), and pre-existing players could enjoy it (it didn't happen whatsoever, we dropped 80 percent of our participant base). Compare OSRS Twitch vs RS3 Twitch. RS3 pvmers are lucky to have a couple hundred at times, mostly only 100-200. Regardless of the fact that RS3 has much better graphics and a combat system that is more sophisticated.
The fact that OSRS has 3x as many players as RS3, the simple fact that RS3 has lost 80 percent of its playerbase post-Eoc, in the exact same time as OSRS has grown exponentially, the simple fact that OSRS pvmers get tens of thousands of viewers (Woox and many others actually had 50,000 audiences for Inferno and Vampire Raids) while RS3 pvmers struggle to get a couple hundred, despite supposedly having a superior combat strategy, are easily verifiable and well-known figures. The fact that the majority of gamers in EoC still use Revolution instead of manual can also be a statistic shared with J Mods on multiple streams.
People left since it was confusing and not fully developed EOC released. EOC is currently much better than it was on release. It also hurt PvP from the sense that fights are briefer. From talking with OSRS players visiting RS3 for the bossing, they generally like EOC since it raises combat complexity (if performing revo or guide ) while also having an easy alternative now (revo++). Additionally, ability bars have been figured out making it less confusing since you can look up a bar.
You're talking to players that still play with a variant of RuneScape. Myself and 4 of my friends quit due to EoC and don't like EoC in its current state. Absurd MTX is just an additional reason to not play with RuneScape. We refuse to play with OSRS and RS3 because we prefer the 2011 era of RuneScape where the graphics were decent and Soul Split made menial job of Slayer tasks that are boring. Not modern day"switch 3 days in 3 successive ticks to protect against this 1 boss strike" or the older school"bring half an inventory of buy rs3 gold prayer potions to finish this garbage mob task".
