Apparently one of the most straightforward RuneScape abilities
To find out more about Jagex's release of This Means Warp, we asked Outlier Games' founders Paul Froggatt and RS Gold Matt Rathbun and Lead Product Management for Jagex Robert Fox-Galassi for their thoughts on the new collaboration.
Like most indie game developers our first steps into the game industry was from playing around with games and game ideas over a a long period of time before coming up with something usable!
I have 10 years' experiences working at Google before I made the decision that I wanted to pursue game development full-time, and Matt's job includes the development of Hollywood computers on movie sets, a brief stint with South Korean esports and mobile game development. We couldn't be more thrilled to share what we've made through This Means Warp.
Many a video game has been a source of inspiration for aspiring developers to develop their own. It's uncommon to have an original work taken over by the company behind the original title.
Thiswas, however, the case for Brendan Malcolm, the one-man team at Australian developers Games By Malcs, whose idle RPG Melvor Idle has been published by Jagex which is the developer of RuneScape (a title that was at the core of Malcolm's idea behind the project.
Melvor Idle strips away the 3D graphics and environments of RuneScape and other similar MMOs and distills it down to a simple idle game that relies on menus, where players manage their inventory, skills and quests purchase osrs gold. In combat, completing battles and winning awards XP and loot that can then be invested into whichever improvement tree or skill tree players prefer, and repeating activities such as crafting or woodcutting yields their own benefits.
