There are several reasons runescape is so grind-full: The more time you've put into something, the longer you are most likely to keep playing. You've spent much time into this game to start another. There's a constant belief that the maximum level content is your very best content. Amounts are bigger, pixels are shinier, and higher level content is apparently a lot more praised and wanted by the community.
The overabundance of top level players in articles not always designed for them forces mid level players to get better in the game or not be able to perform that content. A good instance is God Wars Dungeon: the four original bosses clearly are not meant for 138s that may power through countless kills, but if you're not a 138, you don't have a chance: therefore the content is artificially locked to a higher level. Skillcapes set unusual impetus to get a skill to 99 since every 99 now has a real reward, even though there is no real content between a mid to high level and a maxed level. This ensures that although the xp is terrible, players will keep going for that skill.
Gamers loudly complain every time that the skill is made simpler because it"cheapens" the match. Zezima quit as things were too simple for newer gamers, and he wasn't alone. I would love to visit a debate on how this might be repaired without wrecking the game. Is it an impossible answer? I believe not. Here are my thoughts: Insert worthwhile content from the bottom up. If there isn't any material in levels 70-99 of Herblore, add things from level 70 upward, not 99 downwards. Reduce the severity of the xp curve from, say, 70 onwards. That never utilized to be a problem until it became necessary to level that large. . .now it's for many people because there's actually up content there.
A likely modest section of the neighborhood does actually play for the grind and sense of achievement. Largely the individuals aiming for 200m abilities, they gain nothing in the process in general by way of articles and still enjoy playing. You can go kill bandos to get 200 kills/trip? Why? The only end game I believe runescape having is player killing, which isn't very alluring to many.
I just don't see why folks set content-related goals, this match has such poor content in fact. Unless, of course, you enjoy questing, but by 70+ abilities you can basically have quest cape and that requires very few hours relatively speaking. Creating the game easier would ruin the sport for me, personally, since most updates do. It is easy enough already tbh, all you need is time. Dungeoneering isn't even much of a"skill" skill, because you are reliant upon 4 other individuals skills as well. In case Jagex made solo dungeoneering around 350k exp/hr, then I think that it becomes more of a skill-skill. Post may have just been a mess of unorganized thoughts by my primary point is this: I think that in the event you eliminate the grind you remove a lot of OSRS buy gold the game.
